Nurse Wilkins, her relationship with Edith Cavell

Some weeks ago we shared with you a story about Nurse Elizabeth Wilkins. She was arrested with Edith Cavell during World War 1. She survived and later became Matron at the Cottage Hospital in Chard.

Anthony Hughes found out, by chance, that he was Elizabeth's second cousin. He has done considerable research to understand and share her story. Some of that work was supported by Gerri Bews. Anthony has graciously shared his research with the Museum.

Watch this presentation of the life of Elizabeth Wilkins and especially her relationship with Edith Cavell. You will need to scroll down the page to read the whole presentation.
