Once a booking has been made you will receive an email confirming the date and time of your visit. A further email will be sent to you 24-hours before your visit if there is any additional information you may need.

Can I use the toilet if we visit the Museum?

We have one accessible toilet. There is a regular cleaning programme in place. However if visitors spot something untoward please advice a Steward.

Do you have a regular Events programme?

In 2025 we had an exciting programme of family, kids and groups activities. In 2026 we have extended this and details can be found on our Events Page.

Are schools and groups allowed to visit the Museum?

Over 700 pupils attended workshops in the Museum in the Autumn Term of 2025.. This will continue throughout 2026. Email howard.bailey@chardmuseum.co.uk for further details.

How much will it cost to visit as a small family group?

In 2020/21 Trustees decided that, and to help everyone return to the ‘new-normal’ we would not charge an entrance fee. However, and having just purchased the freehold of the Museum we need to raise income to support the Museum's sustainability. It costs the Museum between £50-£55/day just to keep running. The figure is before we actually open the doors to Visitors. In 2026 we will charge Visitors the same entry fees aas 2025.  Each adult is £5.00. Children under 16 are at no cost..
