How do we make a Booking to visit the Museum when it opens?

Bookings can be made through our website at Book Tour or our dedicated phone line at 07870 697956 between 10:00 to 13:00

Once a booking has been made you will receive an email confirming the date and time of your visit. A further email will be sent to you 24-hours before your visit with any additional information you may need.

When you open, what safety measures will you have in place?

The Museum implemented a one-way system for visitors.. We intend to keep this in place in 2022. We will also keep our 5 hand sanitising points in place. Stewards will inform Visitors where these are situated. We can no longer insist that Visitors wear face masks . However our Stewards will encourage you to do this. It will then be your indivdiual choice. We will encourage Stewards to weear a mask but this has to be their choice also.

Can I use the toilet if we make a booking to visit the Museum?

We have one accessible toilet. We have a regular cleaning programme in place.

Do you have a regular Events programme?

Yes, in 2021 we were only able to host 3 events. In 2022 we have an exciting programme of family, kids and groups activities. The details of all these events can be found on our Events Page.

Will schools and groups be allowed to visit the museum?

In late 2021 we had a very successful programme of school and group visits. Over 360 pupils attended workshops in the Museum. This will continue throughout 2022. Eail howard.bailey@chardmuseum.co.uk for further details.

How much will it cost to visit as a small family group?

In 2020/21 Trustees decided that, and to help everyone return to the ‘new-normal’ we would not charge an entrance fee. However, and having just purchased the freehold of the Museum we need to raise income to support the Museum's sustainability. In 2022 we will return to charging Visitors. Entrance for each adult is £5.00. Children under 15 are free.
