It is with huge sadness

It is with great sadness that members of the Museum were phoned by Maggie Carter this morning to say that, her partner and husband, Roger passed away first thing this morning. Roger was a revered local historian who played significant roles in both Chard Museum and the Chard History Group. His influence, research, and links where shared worldwide as our archives testify. Thank you Roger, and Rest in Peace.

We are not sure what arrangements are being made for the funeral at the moment, but more information will be provided by Barry Gibbs, the funeral director.

As Gerrie Bews has said 'what a truly awful year this has been'

The Museum will, early in the New Year, present some of the stories Roger researched over the years in a special tribute.
