First Announcement: Get ahead of the line, the Stop Line

The threat of invasion on home soil in 1940 seemed unlikely at first, but as the relentless Nazi war machine steamrollered country after country, by June of that year a series of ‘stop lines’ were created across Britain in an effort to delay any Nazi invasion. Andrew Powell-Thomas, author of The West Country's Last Line of Defence Taunton Stop Line will be in Chard on Saturday 10th July to present the story of the Taunton Stop Line.

Andrew is a Historian, author of children's books, and a presenter with a deep knowledge of his subject. He will share the stories of the Taunton Stop Line and will then answer audience questions. Tickets will be on sale at £10.00 (including tea, coffee and cake) from 17th June.

If you want to book in advance simply email info@chardmuseum.co.uk and insert in the subject line Stop LIne Event. We will send you details on 10th June for advanced booking.
