The Cultural Programme aims to make our High Street more attractive, engaging and vibrant places fo

Somerset Art Works have recruited a Lead Artist to drive the Banners Project . Workshops will be developed and delivered with the Chard community to co-create banners with local relevance and reference, for permanent display in the Chard Guildhall.

The Chard skyline will run across all banners to link them, with different elements of Chard's imagery, heritage, and culture/stories. The Banners will be approximately 1.2 m wide by 2m long. They will be created through printmaking and textile elements and may include poetry and text.

The workshops will take place over a 6-9 month period starting in August. The first workshop in the Museum is planned for Monday 06th September from 10:30 tp 12:30 and is intended for our Members and Volunteers. Put the date in your diary in your diary. More information will be available in late July on our Events page or email info@chardmuseum.co.uk
