The Chard Canal - Wednesday 16th October 2024, 7:30pm - 8:30pm

Join us for a talk by Chard Museum Archivist, Sue Heward and hear how the decision in 1825 not to build a ship canal from Beer to Bridgwater (via Axminster and Chard) led to the people of Chard building a 13.5 mile ‘tub boat’ canal to connect their town to the newly-opened Bridgwater-to-Taunton Canal.
