The Trustees of Chard and District Museum (Charity No's 270186 and 1190620) are calling an Extraordinary General Meeting on

Saturday 04th September 2021

starting at 15:30 though to 15:45

held in the Godworthy site of the Museum

The EGM will be followed by a Tribute event to our former Curator and renowned local historian Roger Carter.


Please complete the Attendance Form if you are going to attend the EGM or both the EGM and the Roger Carter Tribute. This is important as it will help us plan the two events, provide guidelines, and manage everyone's safety. Feedback from some of our visitors confirms that there are those still nervouse about public places.

Papers for the agm

The EGM Agenda outlines the two important decisions to be taken at the EGM. The first is to agree the 2020 Accounts and close the Chard and District Museum (Charity No. 270186). The second is to vote on the recommendation of the Trustees of Chard and District Museum (Charity Number 1190620) to purchase the freehold of the present Museum buildings from South Somerset District Council.


The Chairman's Report explains the rationale for Trustees recommendation to purchase the Freehold. Minutes of the Novemebr 2020 AGM will be uploaded to the website on 20th August and will be available on this website. The Final Accounts and Liabilities and Assets are available.

The Trustess have gone through a significant exercise to agree the Museum's Strategic Business Objectives for 2021-2024. The Any Other Business item on the EGM agenda offers members and supporters an opportunity to ask questions about these.

If you are unable to attend the EGM you can use the on-line Voting Form. This will remain open until Wednesday 10th September at 12:00 noon

(c) guidelines outlining management of the two events.
